“BNP Secretary General Criticizes Jamaat-e-Islami for Exploiting Religion”

Date:

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has accused Jamaat-e-Islami of manipulating religious sentiments for political purposes. Speaking at an election gathering in Kismat Daulatpur village, he highlighted that numerous Islamic scholars have denounced Jamaat-e-Islami for using Islam as a tool to mislead the public.

Fakhrul criticized Jamaat activists for reportedly persuading female voters with false religious assurances. He emphasized that no one can guarantee entry into heaven through voting and that such claims are unacceptable in Islam as one’s destiny is solely determined by their actions and Allah’s judgment.

The BNP candidate for Thakurgaon-1 constituency stressed the importance of actions over words and urged for honest and respectful political engagement. He mentioned the historical association between BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami but emphasized the need for integrity and truthfulness in politics.

Fakhrul reiterated that despite Jamaat’s invocation of Islam for political motives, influential Islamic figures like the Pir of Charmonai have publicly disassociated the party from Islamic principles. He encouraged unity among different religious communities and denounced deliberate efforts to sow division.

Engaging with the Hindu community at Bashbhanga Kali Mandir, Fakhrul emphasized coexistence and mutual respect among people of diverse faiths. He expressed optimism for a fair electoral process in the upcoming polls and highlighted the opportunity for voters to freely choose their representatives.

Fakhrul envisioned a BNP victory bringing progress and addressing unemployment in the district. He concluded the day by speaking at election rallies in Rajagaon and Salondor unions, emphasizing the significance of the upcoming parliamentary election for the nation.
