“Red Cross Urges Global Action for Gaza Humanitarian Crisis”

Date:

The Red Cross Chief emphasized the urgent need for enhanced global efforts to alleviate the suffering of the people in Gaza following the initial phase of the ceasefire agreement. The ceasefire, brokered by the US, was established over three months ago to cease the conflict between Israel and Hamas triggered by an attack in October 2023, despite ongoing accusations of violations from both sides.

Recently, the United States confirmed that the ceasefire has progressed to its second phase, aimed at definitively ending the war. Mirjana Spoljaric, the president of the International Committee of the Red Cross, urged nations to utilize the progress made in the agreement between Israel and Hamas to promptly address the severe humanitarian situation in Gaza.

In a separate development, the Israeli military reported conducting strikes against “eight terrorists” in Rafah, a city in southern Gaza, resulting in the death of three individuals. Additional operations were carried out, with soldiers continuing to search the area to neutralize all identified threats.

Israel also declared the reopening of the vital Rafah crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt for “limited movement of people,” starting tomorrow.
