“Raghav Juyal to Replace Vikrant Massey in ‘Ramayana’ as Meghanad”

Date:

Reports indicate a change in casting for director Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated film “Ramayana,” with actor Raghav Juyal potentially taking on a significant role previously associated with Vikrant Massey.

As per Variety India, Juyal has been selected to play Meghanad, the son of Raavan, in place of Massey. Meghanad is expected to feature prominently in the second part of the movie series.

“Ramayana” has generated considerable buzz for its impressive lineup of actors, including Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, and Sunny Deol. The production is set to be a large-scale project, with the decision made to film both parts concurrently.

A source revealed to Pinkvilla that the filming for both movies will span approximately 350 days, with plans to release them within a year of each other. Consequently, work on the second installment is anticipated to kick off prior to the first film hitting theaters.

The projected release date for the second film is around Diwali 2027. Given that a substantial portion of the sequel will be shot before the release of the first part, Juyal is expected to join the filming soon.

In the film, Ranbir Kapoor will portray a character inspired by Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Raavan, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. There have been rumors about Vijay Sethupathi being eyed for the role of Vibhishana, although this has not been confirmed officially.

The impressive ensemble cast also features Ravie Dubey, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Arun Govil, and Kunal Kapoor, among others.
