Moscow, the capital of Russia, experienced its heaviest snowfall in over two centuries this month, according to meteorologists from Moscow State University. Images captured by AFP depicted residents in the city of approximately 13 million individuals navigating through thick layers of snow in the central district. The heavy snowfall led to delays in commuter trains in the Moscow region and caused significant traffic congestion on Thursday evening as vehicles became stranded in lengthy traffic jams. Moscow State University highlighted on social media that January marked an exceptionally cold and snowy month in the city.
