The government is set to launch complimentary Wi-Fi services at all airports, train stations, and high-speed vehicles nationwide, announced by the Minister of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information and Communication Technology, Faqir Mahbub Anam today. Emphasizing the significance of the ICT sector, Minister Anam highlighted Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s initiatives for its advancement. Following the prime minister’s directives, efforts will be made to offer free Wi-Fi access at key transportation hubs.
Minister Anam shared these plans during discussions with local officials at the Tangail Deputy Commissioner’s office this morning. He underscored the government’s commitment to enhancing development initiatives, upgrading communication networks, and executing future strategies in the field of information technology. The aim is to ensure internet access in every household and create more job opportunities within the ICT industry.
Addressing the meeting, Minister Anam provided guidance on ongoing development projects, enhancing communication infrastructure, and advancing the ICT sector. He urged relevant departments to collaborate effectively for successful plan implementation. The event was attended by Tangail Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque and Superintendent of Police Mohammad Shamsul Alam Sarkar, among others.
