“Election Material Distribution Begins Ahead of National Vote”

Date:

The Election Commission has commenced the distribution of election materials, such as ballot boxes, to polling centers nationwide in preparation for the upcoming 13th national election and referendum set for tomorrow.

As per the Commission’s plan, the ballot boxes are anticipated to arrive at the polling centers in Dhaka and other major cities by the evening. Our photographer, while visiting a distribution center at Dhaka Residential Model College, observed polling officials, law enforcement personnel, and Ansar members awaiting the receipt of election materials for their respective centers.

An assistant presiding officer mentioned that they had arrived at the center early in the morning and acquired the supplies after queuing up. Following the handover, they are cross-checking the materials with the checklist to ensure all necessary items have been provided. Subsequently, they will transport the supplies to the polling centers and set up booths today to prepare for tomorrow’s voting.

Similar distribution activities were witnessed at multiple centers both in and outside Dhaka. The voting for both the general election and the referendum is scheduled to take place tomorrow, opening at 7:30 am and concluding at 4:30 pm without any interruptions at 42,779 centers nationwide.

The Election Commission stated that a total of 12.77 crore eligible voters, comprising 6.48 crore men and 6.28 crore women, are expected to cast their ballots. Voting will occur in 299 out of the country’s 300 constituencies, with the polling in Sherpur-3 postponed due to the demise of a Jamaat candidate.
