ICC Implements Contingency Plans for T20 World Cup 2026

Date:

The ICC is closely monitoring the changing situation in the Middle East and has put in place comprehensive contingency plans to ensure the safety, travel arrangements, and well-being of everyone involved in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 being held in India and Sri Lanka. Despite the Middle East crisis not directly impacting the tournament, the ICC recognizes that many individuals, including players, team officials, match referees, broadcast crews, and event personnel, utilize key Gulf airports, notably Dubai (DXB), for transit to their respective countries after the conclusion of their duties at the event.

To address these concerns, the ICC has implemented several measures to safeguard the stakeholders’ safety, well-being, and travel arrangements. These initiatives include collaborating with major international airlines through the ICC Travel and Logistics team to secure alternative flight routes, such as connections through European, South Asian, and South-East Asian airports. Additionally, the ICC’s security consultants are in communication with relevant authorities to provide up-to-date guidance as the situation progresses, with a dedicated ICC Travel Support Desk now operational.
