Middle East Tensions Disrupt Flights at Chattogram

Date:

International air travel to and from Middle Eastern nations faced significant disruptions on Tuesday at Chattogram airport, as nine flights were called off due to rising regional tensions.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines axed one incoming and one outgoing flight, while US-Bangla Airlines scrapped an arrival from Dubai. Air Arabia also contributed to the disruptions by cancelling two arrivals from Sharjah and two departures to the same destination.

SalamAir joined in by cancelling one arrival and one departure flight on the Muscat route. Despite these setbacks, the airport managed to handle four arrivals and three departures from the Middle East throughout the day.

Operations on the Chattogram–Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi routes, operated by Biman, SalamAir, Air Arabia, and US-Bangla Airlines, remain unstable due to the ongoing situation, as per the airport authorities’ statement released tonight.

Since February 28, a total of 137 international flights have been axed to and from Chattogram airport due to the prevailing circumstances.
