Television artist Tinu Karim sadly passed away on Thursday, February 12, at approximately noon in Barishal due to a sudden heart attack, following his participation in the 13th national parliamentary election. Rashed Mamun Apu, the General Secretary of the Actors’ Equity Association, revealed that Karim had visited a polling station in the morning to exercise his voting rights. Upon returning home, he suddenly fell ill and was swiftly taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Earlier this year, Karim had returned home after an extensive 40-day hospitalization, which included intensive care unit treatment and life support. Despite being discharged in early January and showing signs of recovery, he tragically succumbed to a fatal cardiac arrest at his rural residence.
Having been actively involved in acting for more than twenty years, Karim initiated his television career in 2001 with the series “Sakkhor” and ventured into the film industry in 2010 with “Opekkha”. Throughout his career, he featured in numerous television dramas and advertisements, such as “Raat Jaga Phool” and “Alta Banu”, gaining considerable fame through a commercial for a mobile phone provider.
He is survived by his wife, Humayra Nowshin, and their 11-year-old daughter.
