In the recently formed BNP government, nearly half of the cabinet members hail from the Dhaka and Chattogram divisions, with only a couple of ministers representing the Sylhet division.
The Dhaka division boasts the largest presence in the cabinet, with four full ministers and eight state ministers. Meanwhile, the Chattogram division is represented by nine ministers and two state ministers.
Moving on to other divisions, Rangpur has three ministers and one state minister, Rajshahi has two ministers and four state ministers, Khulna has two ministers and two state ministers, and Barishal has two ministers and three state ministers. Additionally, Mymensingh contributes four state ministers to the cabinet.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman ran for elections in Bogura and Dhaka, securing his Dhaka-17 seat. Notably, former interim government adviser Khalilur Rahman has been appointed as a technocrat minister in the cabinet.
