The government has approved a new schedule for office hours during the upcoming month of Ramadan. Public institutions will operate from 9:00am to 3:30pm as per the decision made at the weekly meeting of the Advisory Council led by Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus.
Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam announced the revised working hours at a press briefing held after the meeting at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka. The adjusted schedule will be in place throughout the fasting month, with a 15-minute break for prayer scheduled from 1:00pm to 1:15pm.
All government, semi-government, autonomous, and semi-autonomous offices will adhere to the new working hours. The change will begin at the start of Ramadan and continue until the month concludes. Ramadan is anticipated to commence on February 18 or 19, depending on the moon sighting.
