Bangladeshi voters showed up in large numbers to participate in the country’s national election, with a notable presence of women at polling stations nationwide. Actress Azmeri Haque Badhan, a key figure during the July protests, took to Facebook to celebrate the election results, expressing pride and gratitude for the outcome.
In her post, Badhan shared a heartfelt message commending Bangladesh for the successful election, describing the night leading up to it as restless but the following morning as beautiful and reassuring. She also addressed online critics by posting a photo of herself in both a saree and a burkha, clarifying that she has been wearing a burkha regularly since childhood and sees it as just another clothing choice for practical reasons.
Badhan’s post concluded with congratulations to all election participants and a call for unity, emphasizing that even those who did not win should consider the experience a victory and that moving forward together with respect and unity is crucial for the country’s progress. The actress expressed her love for Bangladesh and the importance of working together for the nation’s benefit.
