Chinese President Xi Jinping engaged in discussions on Wednesday with US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, addressing topics such as Iran and other complex issues. Xi emphasized the importance of strengthening ties with Moscow and emphasized the need for “mutual respect” in relations with Washington.
Following their conversations with Xi, both Trump and Putin highlighted the positive relationships their countries have with China, recognizing China’s significant role on the global stage. Xi cautioned Trump to approach the sensitive Taiwan issue with care, while he and Putin celebrated the enhancement of bilateral relations in the midst of a “turbulent” global environment.
Describing his discussion with Xi as “excellent,” Trump expressed satisfaction with the relationship between the US and China. He underscored the value of the strong bond between himself and President Xi, emphasizing the necessity of maintaining it. Trump shared his sentiments on his Truth Social platform, mentioning that trade, Taiwan, Russia’s activities in Ukraine, Iran, and an upcoming visit to China were among the topics they covered. Trump expressed anticipation for his planned trip to China, stating, “I very much look forward to it.”
