The Election Commission announced that the by-elections for Bogura-6 and the rescheduled election in Sherpur-3 are scheduled to take place before April 14. Regarding the reserved seats for women, Masud mentioned that the process had already commenced, as these elections primarily rely on candidates nominated by parliamentary parties. He emphasized the necessity to finalize the process within 90 days of oath-taking, ensuring its completion.
When questioned about the timing of local government elections, Masud explained that the ordinance had eliminated the provision for voting with party symbols in local government elections. He mentioned that the next step depended on the parliamentary session, where the bill or ordinance would be ratified or modified accordingly. The Election Commission is currently awaiting the decisions made during the upcoming parliamentary session.
