Iran Defiant: Refuses World Cup Exclusion Threats

Date:

Iran has asserted its World Cup participation rights in response to President Donald Trump’s concerns over their safety in the US. The Iranian team stated on social media that the US should not co-host the tournament if it cannot ensure the safety of all teams involved.

Trump’s remarks, made after assuring FIFA of welcoming Iranian players amidst Middle East tensions, were met with Iran’s firm stance. The Iranian national team emphasized the significance of the World Cup as an international event under FIFA’s governance, not subject to individual countries’ influence.

Highlighting their qualification achievements and determination, Iran’s team insisted that no one has the authority to exclude them from the World Cup. They criticized countries claiming hosting rights without ensuring security for all participating teams, alluding to concerns following the recent US-Israeli actions.

Despite the uncertainties surrounding Iran’s involvement in the tournament, jointly hosted by the US, Canada, and Mexico, Trump reiterated the event’s safety measures for players and fans worldwide. He expressed enthusiasm for hosting the FIFA World Cup, noting the exceptional ticket sales anticipation.
