Departing from the usual romantic clichés, the Bengali short film “Mystery In Bloom” is set to premiere on February 17 on the digital platform Bongo and its official YouTube channel. Directed by the up-and-coming filmmaker Shawana, the project offers a contemplative and emotionally intimate storyline perfect for the Valentine’s season.
In contrast to typical love tales, “Mystery In Bloom” emphasizes the importance of presence and emotional depth. The director, known for the acclaimed “The Road to My Father” showcased at various international film festivals, brings a fusion of Swedish and Bangladeshi cultural elements to this new creation.
“I aimed to present this narrative in a unique manner,” noted Shawana. “It is tailored to resonate deeply with Bangladeshi viewers, invoking feelings of connection and nostalgia.” Lead roles in the film are portrayed by Prantar Dastider and Shawana. Produced by Rasel Mahmud, the technical team boasts talents like cinematographer Mohibullah Shanto, editor Sourav Howlader, and renowned sound designer Ripon Nath. The musical composition is credited to Jahid Nirob, with color grading handled by Chinnmoy Roy.
