“Inter Miami to Unveil ‘Leo Messi Stand’ at Nu Stadium”

Date:

Inter Miami revealed plans to dedicate a spectator stand at their new stadium to Lionel Messi, the renowned Argentine star and team captain. The Major League Soccer franchise announced that the 26,700-seat arena, named Nu Stadium, will feature the “Leo Messi Stand” when it opens on April 4.

Inter Miami expressed enthusiasm about the honor, stating that Messi, their number 10 and captain, will have a stand named after him, a rare occurrence in global sports. The Nu Stadium serves as a permanent venue, replacing the temporary Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale where the team has played since joining MLS in 2020.

Since joining Inter three years ago, Messi has significantly influenced the club’s success, guiding them to four trophies, including the 2023 Leagues Cup and the 2025 MLS Cup. The decision to name the stand after Messi acknowledges the ongoing impact of the 38-year-old Argentine with the club.

Inter Miami emphasized that this tribute to Messi is unique as it celebrates the present and the experience of watching Messi play. It is a recognition of witnessing something extraordinary rather than just honoring the past.
