Apple has welcomed Lilian Rincon, a former Google executive, to lead its artificial intelligence product marketing division, as per a recent announcement by the tech company. Rincon, who managed Google’s shopping and assistant products for close to ten years, will be under the supervision of Greg Joswiak, Apple’s head of marketing. Prior to her tenure at Google, she held roles at Microsoft and Skype.
This move by Apple coincides with its upcoming launch of an enhanced version of its virtual assistant Siri, expected later this year. The revamped Siri will incorporate technology from Google’s Gemini AI model. Reports suggest that Apple is reorganizing its AI teams to better address market needs and competitive challenges.
