Veteran actor Sohel Rana has urged Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to enhance oversight over certain ministers, highlighting that their public statements could have adverse effects on the government and ruling party.
In a recent post on his official Facebook account, shared on Friday evening, Sohel Rana noted the warm reception given to the prime minister by the people of Bangladesh during the past three days. However, he advised the prime minister to counsel some ministers against unnecessary media appearances.
Rana emphasized that ministers should avoid making appearances in the press without substantial news and recommended delegating departmental updates to designated spokespersons instead.
He stressed that ministers should only engage with the media when essential and after consultation with the prime minister. Rana expressed concerns that some individuals who swiftly ascended from party workers to MPs and then ministers may overlook their changed roles.
According to Rana, inconsistent or impulsive remarks by these ministers could negatively impact both the party and the prime minister.
Highlighting the importance of establishing tighter control to prevent potential repercussions, Rana warned that failing to do so could undermine early progress. Concluding his message, he conveyed his gratitude and well wishes to the prime minister.
