All 30 individuals who participated in the recent Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Level 3 Coach Course have successfully completed the program. The course concluded on Wednesday with a certificate distribution ceremony at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
Key personalities from the BCB, including ad hoc committee president Tamim Iqbal, Game Development Committee chairman Fahim Sinha, Grounds Committee chairman Md Rafiqul Islam Babu, and BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury, were present at the event to present certificates to the participants.
The course comprised a 90-day practical component following an intensive residential training program led by globally recognized coach educators. The training was facilitated by the Turner-Campbell Consultancy based in Australia.
During the practical phase, participants put their knowledge into practice by coaching real players, both established and up-and-coming talents. Each coach devised and executed tailored development plans, utilized modern coaching techniques, and monitored the progress of their designated players.
The program culminated in detailed report submissions and live presentations, where participants shared their learnings, perspectives, and achievements.
Among the notable attendees were Abdur Razzak, Talha Jubaer, Hannan Sarkar, Javed Omar, Rajin Saleh, Nazmul Hossain, Dollar Mahmud, Faisal Hossain Decans, Tushar Imran, and Fatema Tuz Jahara. Fatema made history by becoming the first female coach in Bangladesh to attain a Level 3 certification.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, Shahriar Nafees, a participant, commended the BCB and Turner-Campbell Consultancy for a rewarding program. He expressed optimism that the training would significantly benefit the coaches in their professional journeys.
According to feedback from participants and BCB officials, the passing grade was set at 75 out of 100. The course included various assessments, presentations, practical coaching sessions, assignments, and final evaluations, with all participants meeting the required standards.
Former captain Rajin Saleh praised the initiative, calling it a historic moment after a prolonged gap in such comprehensive training programs. He credited former BCB president Aminul Islam for orchestrating a remarkable course that enabled several ex-players to successfully complete the training.
The course commenced on September 15 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka and featured a distinguished panel of educators and mentors, including renowned figures in global cricket development and elite coaching such as Aminul Islam, Ross Turner, Alan Campbell, Geoff Lawson, and Natasha Campbell.
The last Level 3 coaching course in Bangladesh took place in 2009 under a collaborative effort between the ICC and ACC.
