“Body of Bound Man Found in Moulvibazar Tea Garden”

Date:

Police in Moulvibazar’s Kamalganj upazila have discovered the body of a 28-year-old man, who was found with his hands and feet bound in a tea garden.

The deceased, identified as Ratan Shuvo Kar, was a worker at Champara Tea Garden in Islampur union, according to Kamalganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Awal.

Local residents spotted the body in the tea garden at approximately 10:00 am and promptly alerted the authorities. The body displayed visible signs of injury and was in a bloody state.

A garden worker, speaking on condition of anonymity, mentioned that locals suspect Ratan may have been murdered elsewhere before being dumped at the garden location.

While some locals speculated about potential ties to an upcoming election, no concrete evidence supporting this theory has been uncovered.

Ratan’s elder brother, Laxman Kar, shared that the family had been searching for him since the previous night. Upon receiving news that his body was discovered in the garden, family members went to the scene and confirmed his identity, expressing confusion over the motive behind his killing.

The body has been transferred to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination, as confirmed by the OC, who also stated that an investigation is in progress to identify the individuals responsible for the crime.
