“Deadly Attack in Nigeria: 50 Killed, Women and Children Taken”

At least 50 individuals lost their lives in a tragic incident where armed assailants targeted a village in Zamfara state, located in the northwest region of Nigeria. Alongside the fatalities, numerous women and children were reportedly taken captive during the attack, according to a statement made by a local legislator to Reuters on the previous day.

Hamisu A. Faru, the parliamentary representative for Bukkuyum South, disclosed that the assault on Tungan Dutse village commenced at approximately 5:00 pm on Thursday and persisted until around 3:30 am the following day. The perpetrators set ablaze structures and indiscriminately fired at fleeing residents during the harrowing ordeal.

Faru expressed, “They have been traversing through various villages, resulting in the unfortunate demise of at least 50 individuals.” He conveyed this information during a telephone conversation with Reuters.

The exact count of abducted persons has not been established as of yet. Efforts by community leaders and local authorities are ongoing to ascertain the whereabouts of those who are missing in the aftermath of the distressing incident.
