Citizens Bank PLC has recently entered into a partnership with Nec Pay Limited, an electronic money company based in Cyprus. This collaboration aims to streamline inward remittance payments from various European countries, enhancing the bank’s global remittance network and improving services for Bangladeshi expatriates and their families.
The agreement was formalized between Alamgir Hossain, the managing director of Citizens Bank PLC, and Ikram Farazy, the chairman of Nec Group and Nec Pay Limited, during a ceremony held at the bank’s headquarters in Dhaka. As outlined in a press release, the partnership enables Citizens Bank PLC to distribute inward remittances received through Nec Pay Limited from Cyprus and other European nations across its branches and sub-branches.
By leveraging this partnership, the bank aims to fortify its international remittance network, offering Bangladeshi expatriates and their beneficiaries convenient, secure, and efficient remittance services. The signing ceremony was attended by key figures from both organizations, including Md Mostafizur Rahman and Md Abdul Latif, deputy managing directors of Citizens Bank PLC, Mahela Ishat Farazy, director of Nec Group, and Md Osman Goni, country manager of Nec Pay Limited. Additional officials from both entities were also present to commemorate the agreement.
