Confusion surrounds the leadership situation at the Ministry of Public Administration following a recent official gazette notification from the Cabinet Division that did not appoint a full minister to the crucial role. The notification, released after the formation of the new cabinet, named Joypurhat MP Abdul Bari as the state minister for public administration but did not specify a full minister to lead the ministry.
Traditionally, ministries without a full minister are directly overseen by the prime minister. However, the latest gazette notification did not assign the Ministry of Public Administration to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, adding to the uncertainty regarding its ministerial supervision. Tarique currently oversees the Cabinet Division, the Ministry of Defence, and the Armed Forces Division.

Efforts to seek clarification from Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani were fruitless as phone calls went unanswered. Similarly, Cabinet Division Secretary (Coordination and Reform) Zaheda Parveen declined to provide any comments when reached out to for clarification.
