A tragic incident occurred on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Jeddah to Chattogram as a passenger passed away after falling ill, leading to an emergency landing in Muscat, Oman.
The passenger, identified as Sanowara Begum, approximately 55 years old from Chattogram, became unwell during the flight BG136 departing from Jeddah Airport to Chattogram. Following the medical emergency, the aircraft was redirected to Muscat, where a doctor at the airport confirmed her death upon landing, according to Engineer Ibrahim Khalil, the public relations officer of Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport.
Efforts were initiated to repatriate the deceased passenger’s body to Bangladesh through the embassy, as stated by Khalil. Subsequently, the flight, BG136, resumed its journey to Chattogram after the passenger was disembarked in Muscat.
