Palestinians in Gaza woke up to heavy rainfall causing flooding in their makeshift shelters, leaving them vulnerable during the winter season. This weather phenomenon occurred during the holy month of Ramadan, with Gaza’s civil defense units responding to numerous distress calls.
Despite a supposed ceasefire agreement with Hamas in October, Israeli forces continued their actions in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, including a young boy in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza.
Responding to the crisis, rescue teams in Gaza assisted families affected by the flooding in the al-Mawasi camp near Khan Younis. The Remal neighborhood and the port area in western Gaza City also faced severe flooding, as seen in videos circulating on social media, showcasing the challenges residents encountered in safeguarding their shelters from further water damage.
According to reports from the Ministry of Health in Gaza, over 600 Palestinians have lost their lives in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire agreement mediated by the United States.
