Microsoft introduced Scout, a fresh artificial intelligence (AI) aide, at its annual developer conference. Scout is based on the OpenClaw framework, known for its independent AI agent approach. Designed to be an ever-present digital assistant, Scout learns from user interactions to personalize its assistance. Users can name and tailor their own Scout instance to match their unique work patterns and preferences.
Microsoft highlighted that Scout can be fine-tuned through user feedback to automate tasks and adapt to different work styles. The company will offer Scout through its Frontier program for early product access, requiring a GitHub Copilot subscription.
Scout operates in the cloud, seamlessly integrating with Microsoft 365 apps and other connected services on desktop and web platforms. It will debut with functionalities like calendar management and meeting preparation tools, with the flexibility for users to create personalized skills tailored to their requirements.
In addition to Scout, Microsoft revealed enhancements to Copilot, a new reasoning-focused AI model, and Project Solara, a hardware-driven AI venture.
