The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has unveiled the team lineup for the upcoming three-game T20I series against Australia, appointing Tawhid Hridoy as the new vice-captain. Saif Hassan voluntarily stepped down from the vice-captaincy role, creating an opportunity for Hridoy to assume the position as Litton Das’s second-in-command.
The squad marks the comeback of fast bowlers Taskin Ahmed, Nahid Rana, and Mustafizur Rahman, who were absent during the recent T20I series against New Zealand. They will be replacing Mohammad Saifuddin, Ripon Mondol, and Tanzim Sakib in the team. Additionally, selectors disclosed that Ripon is presently sidelined due to an injury.
The three contests against Australia are slated to be held in Chattogram, with the matches scheduled for June 17, 19, and 21.
The T20I series squad comprises Litton Kumer Das as the captain, alongside Parvez Hossain Emon, Tanzid Hasan, Mohammed Saif Hassan, Shamim Hossain, Tawhid Hridoy (vice-captain), Quazi Nurul Hasan Sohan, Shak Mahedi Hasan, Nasum Ahmed, Rishad Hossain, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Nahid Rana, and Abdul Gaffar Saqlain.
