“New Baggage Monitoring System Enhances Transparency”

Date:

Passengers at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka will now have the opportunity to observe the entire process of their luggage being handled, starting from unloading until delivery, using a newly implemented live monitoring system. The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has recently set up a network of 32 CCTV cameras and 18 monitors across eight baggage carousels to enhance transparency and accountability in baggage handling procedures, as stated in a press release.

The monitoring system features 65-inch monitors displaying real-time footage of luggage being unloaded, transferred to designated areas, sorted, and finally delivered to the respective carousels. CAAB has emphasized that the primary goal of this system is to provide passengers with increased visibility into baggage operations, ultimately enhancing luggage security.

This initiative by CAAB is expected to elevate efficiency levels and ensure greater accountability in baggage handling processes at the primary international airport in the country.
