The Press Secretary of the Chief Adviser, Shafiqul Alam, reiterated today that the asset declarations of the advisers would be made public during the current government’s term, confirming his previous announcement made last Thursday.
During a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka following a special meeting of the advisory council, Shafiqul Alam stated, “I am reiterating… except for one or two individuals, everyone has submitted their asset statements. These will be disclosed to the public within the next day or two,” in response to queries from journalists.
The advisory council currently comprises 21 members, with an additional nine holding ministerial or state ministerial positions. Despite the interim government led by Prof Yunus pledging to reveal the assets of its advisers upon assuming office on August 8, 2024, no such disclosures have been made to date.
Tomorrow marks the official final working day of the interim government.
