“AI HR Startup Humand Raises $66M for US Expansion”

Date:

Humand, a startup offering an AI-driven HR management app for non-desk employees, has secured $66 million in a Series A funding round to further its expansion in the United States. The investment was led by Goodwater Capital and Kaszek Ventures, with additional funding from Y Combinator, as well as angel investors such as Arash Ferdowsi, co-founder of Dropbox, and Rajat Suri, co-founder of Lyft.

According to a recent report from Bloomberg News, Humand’s mobile application integrates internal communication tools, culture-building features, scheduling capabilities, benefits information, and training resources into a unified platform tailored for smartphone-dependent workers.

The report highlights that Humand estimates approximately 80% of the global workforce, totaling around 2.7 billion individuals, are engaged in roles that involve physical labor in settings like factories, construction sites, retail outlets, and healthcare facilities, where access to corporate email or conventional enterprise communication channels is limited.

Established in 2020 by entrepreneurs from Argentina who crossed paths during their time at college in Buenos Aires, Humand disclosed to Bloomberg that it caters to over 1.5 million employees across 1,500 international companies, including prominent names like Siemens, Home Depot, and Domino’s Pizza. The company’s objective is to onboard 10,000 corporate clients over the next five years.

In a recent announcement on LinkedIn, Humand revealed that the fresh funding will be utilized to expedite the enhancement of AI agents aimed at automating manual tasks and empowering HR teams with enhanced oversight over communication, culture, operations, and talent management processes.
