Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Leader Dr. Shafiqur Rahman expressed deep condolences today regarding the tragic demise of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei due to strikes by Israel and the United States.
In a post on his verified Facebook page at 11:25 am, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman conveyed his sorrow, stating, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. I am deeply saddened by the news of the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.”
He extended heartfelt sympathies to the people of Iran and prayed for divine strength and patience during this difficult time.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman highlighted the heightened instability in the Middle East, emphasizing the precarious regional balance. He cautioned that further military actions could not only endanger individual nations but also escalate tensions across the entire region towards a catastrophic conflict.
Emphasizing the significance of the holy month of Ramadan, he noted that any attacks during this period would deeply impact and enrage ordinary people in the Muslim world, posing a threat to global peace.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman called for an immediate de-escalation, urging all parties involved to cease military operations, exercise restraint, and prioritize diplomatic solutions.
