Following the recent swearing-in ceremony, the Cabinet Division has not yet released an official gazette detailing the ministerial portfolios. Despite this, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has unofficially finalized the distribution of responsibilities within the new cabinet.
According to a statement on the party’s verified Facebook page, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is set to lead the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives. Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury will oversee the Finance and Planning Ministry, while Salahuddin Ahmed is designated for the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Other key appointments include Iqbal Hasan Mahmud for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources, Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed for Liberation War Affairs, and AZM Zahid Hossain for Women and Children Affairs and Social Welfare. Dr. Khalilur Rahman is assigned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with Abdul Awal Mintoo leading Environment, Forest, and Climate Change.
Khandaker Abdul Muktadir will handle Commerce, Industries, Jute, and Textile, Ariful Haque Chowdhury will manage Labour, Employment, Expatriate Welfare, and Overseas Employment, and Zahir Uddin Swapon will take charge of Information and Broadcasting. Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid is appointed to Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food.
Furthermore, Afroza Khanam Rita will oversee Civil Aviation and Tourism, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee Water Resources, and Asadul Habib Dulu Disaster Management and Relief. Md Asaduzzaman will lead Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, with Zakaria Taher managing Housing and Public Works.
Dipen Dewan will handle Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs, ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon Education, and Sarder Md Sakhawat Hossain Health and Family Welfare. Fakir Mahbub Anam is designated for Post and Telecommunications, Science, and ICT, while Sheikh Rabiul Alam will supervise Road Transport, Railways, and Shipping.
In addition to the cabinet members, 24 state ministers have been assigned portfolios. Notable appointments include Shama Obaed Islam for Foreign Affairs, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku for Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, and Barrister Kaiser Kamal for Land. Farhad Hossain Azad will serve in Water Resources, and Md Aminul Haq is designated for Youth and Sports.
The official announcement of the complete cabinet structure is anticipated upon the issuance of the official gazette by the Cabinet Division.
