Bangladesh Women’s Team Reveals Final AFC Asian Cup Roster

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) unveiled the final 26-player roster for the upcoming AFC Women’s Asian Cup, featuring Anika Rania Siddique from Sweden, along with U-19 team members Alpi Akter and Sauravi Akanda Prity.

The team is set to embark on their journey to Australia early Friday to compete in the premier tournament in Asia.

Previously, English coach Peter Butler disclosed a preliminary squad of 29 players, who underwent a rigorous 12-day fitness training camp led by Australian coach Cameron Lord from January 28 to February 8. During this period, Butler was overseeing the Bangladesh Women’s U-19 team at the SAFF Women’s U-19 Championship.

Out of the initial 29-member squad, seven players, namely Sinha Jahan Shika, Tonima Biswas, Ruma Akter, Umme Kulsum, Ferdous Sonali, Airin Akter, and Surma Jannat, have been retained, while four new faces, Saurovi Afrin, Munki Akter, Alpi Akter, and Sauravi Akanda Prity, have been added to the final squad.

Although a friendly match against Thailand was in the plans en route to Australia, it has been called off.
