“Bengali Folk Vocals (Baul) Sample Pack Released Worldwide on Splice”

Date:

Singer, songwriter, and music producer Armeen Musa has unveiled Bengali Folk Vocals (Baul) — a fresh vocal sample pack now accessible worldwide on Splice, a prominent music production platform.

In partnership with the Aaroh label, overseen by Indian composer Dhruv Goel, this collection showcases the emotive essence of Baul music, a centuries-old mystical folk tradition from Bengal, within contemporary global music creation realms.

Crafted to be versatile across various genres, the pack includes authentic vocal motifs and spontaneous textures suitable for electronic music, film scoring, sound design, and cross-cultural fusion projects. By integrating Baul vocals into a royalty-free, globally available production environment, this venture broadens opportunities for producers and composers worldwide to engage with Bengali folk heritage.

Splice, utilized by millions of music creators globally, provides royalty-free sounds widely utilized in modern electronic, pop, film, and experimental music productions. Bengali Folk Vocals (Baul) becomes the second Bangladeshi-origin sample pack on the platform, following the debut of Contemporary Bengali Choir, also spearheaded by Armeen Musa, which introduced contemporary Bengali choral tones to the global music community.

Featuring performances by renowned vocalists Baby Akhter and Lokman Siddiqi, the Baul pack encapsulates the spiritual, poetic, and improvisational elements of the tradition. Baby Akhter has contributed to global projects by British-Bangladeshi composer and producer Kishon Khan, infusing Baul influences into contemporary jazz and world music genres. Meanwhile, Lokman Siddiqi, a dedicated Baul singer, upholds the tradition’s oral roots and devotional artistry.

The compilation, overseen by Armeen, who made history as the first Bangladeshi to be part of a Grammy-nominated album, Shuruat, consistently merges South Asian musical legacies with contemporary global musical techniques.

Engineered by Iftekharul Alam Shubho at Kolorob Studios, the project positions Baul music not merely as historical folklore but as a dynamic, evolving tradition engaging with modern production methodologies.
