The 76th Berlin International Film Festival is currently taking place in Germany, starting on February 12 and ending on February 22. The winners of the Fondazione Prada Film Fund have been revealed amidst the festival celebrations.

This year, fourteen films from various countries have been chosen to receive the prestigious grant. One of the selected films is “The Difficult Bride” by Bangladeshi filmmaker Rubaiyat Hossain. This project previously received funding at the World Cinema Fund in 2022 and has now been awarded €80,000 at the Berlin International Film Festival.

The announcement of the selected feature films took place on February 13 during a special event. This marks the first time that the Fondazione Prada is providing funding for full-length feature films. The total funding of €1.5 million will be shared among the 14 projects.

“The Difficult Bride” has already finished filming, featuring National Film Award-winning actors Azmeri Haque Badhan, Reekita Nondine Shimu, Sunerah Binte Kamal, and newcomer Zaineen Karim Chowdhury in the lead role.
