“BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman Inaugurated as 11th Prime Minister”

All 24 state ministers in the current cabinet are newly appointed, and 16 out of the 25 full ministers are assuming their roles for the first time.

Today, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman was inaugurated at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, marking the country’s 11th prime ministerial appointment.

President Mohammed Shahabuddin officiated the swearing-in ceremony for the prime minister, 25 ministers, and 24 state ministers.

Among the first-time ministers are Tarique Rahman, AZM Zahid Hossain, Khalilur Rahman, Abdul Awal Mintoo, Mizanur Rahman Minu, Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, Ariful Haque Choudhury, Zahir Uddin Swapan, Aminur Rashid Yasin, Afroza Khanam Rita, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee, Asaduzzaman Asad, Zakaria Taher, Dipen Dewan, Fokir Mahbub Anam, Sardar Sakhawat Hossain Bokul, and Sheikh Robiul Alam.

The newly appointed state ministers include M Rashiduzzaman Millat, Anindya Islam Amit, Shariful Alam, Shama Obaed Islam, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Barrister Kaiser Kamal, Farhad Hossain Azad, Md Aminul Haq, Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, Md Abdul Bari, Mir Shahe Alam, Zonayed Saki, Ishraque Hossain, Farzana Sharmin, Shaikh Faridul Islam, Nurul Haque Nur, Yasser Khan Chowdhury, M Iqbal Hossain, MA Muhith, Ahammad Sohel Manjur, Bobby Hajjaj, Ali Newaz Mahmud Khaiyam, Habibur Rashid, and Md Rajib Ahsan.

The new government, led by the BNP under Tarique Rahman, officially commenced its duties today after securing victory in 209 seats during the February 12 national election.
