“Children’s Song ‘Obishwasher Deshe’ Flips Script on Adults”

Date:

A new children’s song has been launched that flips the script by addressing adults. This innovative approach may raise eyebrows initially, prompting the question of what kind of song it is. The answer is straightforward—it’s unique. In this song, children are the ones offering guidance to adults.

Titled “Obishwasher Deshe” (In the Land of Distrust), the thought-provoking song was penned and composed by architect Enamul Karim Nirjhar, with musical arrangements by Autumnal Moon. The vocals are provided by young artist Mrinmoyee Megha, marking her third original song release.

The music video for “Obishwasher Deshe” is now live on the YouTube channel “Gaanshala EKNC” as part of the “Ek Nirjharer Gaan” project. Directed by Mujahid Mijab, the video features Megha as the centerpiece.

Enamul Karim Nirjhar shed light on the inspiration behind this socially conscious yet apolitical composition, stating, “In today’s climate, discerning whose voice will be heard has become challenging. Children often grasp many of our faults and inconsistencies but may struggle to voice them openly. This led me to think—what if children sang about us adults? Perhaps the message would resonate with more people, nudging us towards introspection. While I understand it may not instigate monumental change, our only option is to persist. This song, delivered through Megha’s vocals, embodies that endeavor.”

Meanwhile, Megha, the talented young singer, has been lauded by adults for her bold rendition of this unconventional piece. Expressing her gratitude, Megha shared, “This is my second collaboration with Nirjhar uncle for lyrics and tune, and Moon uncle for music. Singing this song was a delightful experience, and the video has turned out beautifully. I hope to receive your blessings to continue singing many more enchanting songs.”

Notably, Megha, a fourth-grade student, made her debut in 2024 with the original song “Bhuter Raja Dilo Bor,” crafted by Autumnal Moon. Following that, her second song, “Hau Mau Khau,” written and composed by Enamul Karim Nirjhar, was released in 2025.
