“Death Toll Reaches 108 in School Airstrike Tragedy”

Date:

The Iranian Red Crescent has reported that the death toll from an airstrike on a school in the southern part of the country has now reached 108 following military actions by the US and Israel. According to a spokesperson for the organization, operations to provide relief and clear the debris are still ongoing at the Minab School where the tragic incident occurred.

Verification of the casualty count and the circumstances of the strike could not be independently confirmed by AFP as access to the location was restricted. When questioned, the Israeli military did not immediately comment on the incident.

Similarly, the Pentagon did not provide an immediate response to requests for comments. However, a spokesperson from CENTCOM, quoted by The New York Times, mentioned that they are investigating reports of civilian casualties resulting from the ongoing military operations. The spokesperson emphasized the importance of protecting civilians and assured that all necessary precautions would be taken to minimize unintended harm.

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian condemned the attack, labeling it a “barbaric act” and adding that it further tarnishes the record of crimes committed by the aggressors. The US and Israel conducted a series of strikes against Iran on Saturday morning. The Iranian Red Crescent stated later that day that the attacks had resulted in at least 201 fatalities and 747 injuries.
