Chinese tech firm DeepSeek is set to introduce an AI-powered search engine and enhance its lineup of automated software, as per a recent report by Bloomberg News. The company’s intentions came to light through various job postings released this month.
DeepSeek, as reported by Bloomberg, is in the process of recruiting experts to construct a search engine capable of accommodating multiple languages. The upcoming search tool will be multimodal, enabling it to comprehend and process various forms of data, including text, images, and audio. Additionally, the company is on the lookout for individuals to work on developing AI “agents” – tools designed to execute tasks with minimal human intervention.
This strategic move signifies DeepSeek’s progression following the favorable reception of its earlier AI model, known as R1. Notable players in the AI industry, such as OpenAI and Google, are also directing investments towards similar search and agent technologies. DeepSeek’s job postings reiterated its ambition to pioneer advanced artificial general intelligence (AGI), aiming to create AI capable of matching or surpassing human proficiency across numerous domains.
