The highly anticipated Eid-ul-Fitr movie “Domm” has unveiled its first glimpse, hinting at a suspenseful storyline filled with mystery and survival.
Released on social media at 1:00pm on March 8, the 54-second preview showcases Afran Nisho, Chanchal Chowdhury, and Puja Chery against a picturesque mountain backdrop at sunrise. The tranquil setting quickly transitions to a tense atmosphere, indicating impending danger. The teaser’s background music and brief clips have sparked intrigue and conversations among online audiences.
In the teaser, Afran Nisho appears worn out, fragile, and apprehensive, while Puja Chery’s expressions convey uncertainty and fear. Chanchal Chowdhury also portrays shock and alarm. These scenes prompt speculation about fleeing, pursuit, and survival in the film.
The teaser features a single line spoken by Afran Nisho towards the end: “Ami Shahjahan Islam Noor, Bangladeshi Muslim, mone raikh.” This concise dialogue has intensified excitement for the movie.
Director Redoan Rony stated that the film now belongs to the viewers, expressing optimism that it will meet their expectations. He mentioned that the teaser offers just a glimpse of the story and highlighted that the film was shot in remote locations seldom seen in Bangladeshi cinema.
In “Domm,” Afran Nisho takes on the role of Shahjahan Islam Noor, describing the movie as a survival tale with profound emotional aspects, requiring courage and teamwork to bring it to fruition.
Puja Chery portrays the character Rani, described as strong-willed and complex. The actress noted that the teaser only teases the character’s presence, with her full impact on Noor’s journey unfolding in the film.
Produced by SVF Alpha-i and Chorki, “Domm” is based on true events and has been in development for nearly two and a half years. Shahriar Shakil, the managing director of SVF Alpha-i Entertainment, emphasized the film’s aim to redefine Bangla cinema boundaries and present fresh visuals to local audiences.
Carrying the tagline “Until the Last Breath,” “Domm” is slated for release during Eid-ul-Fitr. The screenplay was crafted by Redoan Rony in collaboration with Syed Ahmed Shawki, Al-Amin Hasan Nirjhar, Md Saifullah Riyad, and Rabiul Alam Robi.
