Family of Five, Including Toddler, Killed in Tragic Saudi Road Accident

Five members of a family, including a one-and-a-half-year-old toddler, lost their lives in a tragic road accident while returning from Umrah in Saudi Arabia. The deceased individuals are identified as Mizanur Rahman, aged 45, his wife Farzana Yasmin, aged 30, and their daughters Meher Afroz Sumi, aged 10, Faiza Islam, aged 8, and 18-month-old Farjin Nur, as confirmed by family members and authorities.

The devastating incident occurred around 11:00 pm (Saudi time) on Sunday, which translates to 3:00 am Bangladesh time the following day, in the Taif region of Saudi Arabia, according to Firoz Uddin Chowdhury, the officer-in-charge of Ramganj Police Station. In addition to the fatalities, four other individuals, including the driver, sustained severe injuries and were being treated in the ICU of a hospital in Saudi Arabia.

Baharul Alam, the younger brother of Mizanur, mentioned that his brother had been engaged in the hotel industry in Abha, Saudi Arabia, for the past two decades. Mizanur’s wife and three daughters had traveled to the country on February 3 to perform Umrah alongside him. Tragically, Mizanur, his wife, and their three daughters perished in the accident, with news of the incident being confirmed to Baharul Alam by Mizan’s friend, Md Titu, around 3:15 am Bangladesh time.

Officer-in-charge Firoz assured that the police would assist the family in repatriating the bodies of the deceased back to Bangladesh.
