Former Dhaka Police Deputy Commissioner Reinstated

Date:

The government has reversed the dismissal of Md Kohinoor Mian, the former deputy commissioner (west) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). This decision comes after a review of his appeal, as stated in a recent gazette notification from the Ministry of Home Affairs. The notification indicates that two previous departmental cases leading to his dismissal have been overturned, following the resolution of corresponding criminal cases in court. Subsequently, Kohinoor Mian had submitted a petition seeking reconsideration of the dismissal, which was approved by the president of Bangladesh.

Consequently, the order issued on February 22, 2011, terminating his service has been revoked. The notification also specifies that the duration during which Kohinoor Mian was dismissed will be recognized as part of his service tenure. He is entitled to receive all pending salaries, allowances, and benefits as per the established regulations. The gazette confirms that the reinstatement order is effective immediately.
