Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed announced today that the government has devised a 180-day action plan focusing on managing commodity prices, upholding law and order, stabilizing supply chains, and ensuring continuous gas and electricity provision. Speaking to the media post the inaugural cabinet meeting at the secretariat, Salahuddin highlighted the customary tradition of a new government convening for discussion on its first day in office.
During the meeting attended by cabinet members and advisors, the Prime Minister delivered directives and tasked them with determining the government’s priorities. Salahuddin emphasized that while typical governments outline priorities for the initial 100 days, this cabinet has extended the plan to 180 days, with specific details to follow later.
He further elaborated on the immediate objectives, aiming to enhance the control of commodity prices, maintain supply chain efficiency, and safeguard the seamless operation of power and energy sectors, particularly gas and electricity. Salahuddin mentioned that the Prime Minister engaged with ministry secretaries, urging them to align with the government’s manifesto and prioritize the public’s mandate.
Moreover, he stressed that officials will be assessed based on merit without consideration of personal or political affiliations. The expectation is for them to fulfill their responsibilities in accordance with the constitution, laws, and business regulations.
