“Govt to Boost Health Complex Security with 10 Ansar Members Each”

Date:

The Health Minister, Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain, announced yesterday that the government will assign 10 Ansar members to each upazila health complex to enhance safety and security measures. This decision was made following a meeting with the Prime Minister, and the deployment is expected to take place in the coming days.

Speaking to journalists after participating in an event at Bangladesh Medical University, Minister Husain highlighted the urgency of this action. The initiative stems from concerns raised by doctors during a recent conference of upazila health and family planning officers held on April 18, where security issues were discussed in the presence of the Prime Minister.

To implement this plan, the health ministry has formally requested approval from the finance ministry to recruit 4,950 Ansar members for placement at 495 health complexes nationwide. The estimated annual cost for this initiative is approximately Tk 150 crore, as outlined in the ministry’s official communication.
