Channel i is set to launch a new folk music series called “I Folk Fever,” showcasing both renowned and up-and-coming artists performing traditional folk songs. The program, consisting of 23 episodes, will be broadcast on Channel i. Esteemed singer Sabina Yasmin recently wrapped up recording her episode at the Channel i studio, where she delivered renditions of five beloved folk songs.
Reflecting on her participation, Sabina Yasmin emphasized the emotional resonance of folk songs, noting that this experience marked a departure from her usual repertoire. She expressed delight in performing the five songs and extended gratitude to Channel i for spearheading the initiative, as well as to Jahangir Sayeed for the invitation.
Numerous other artists, including Rafiqul Alam, Khurshid Alam, Kanak Chapa, Ferdous Ara, Salma, Liza, Zhilik, and Nakul Kumar Biswas, have also contributed their voices to the series. Supporters of the program believe it will play a vital role in promoting Bangladeshi folk music and bridging the generational gap to preserve its cultural heritage.
