“Kayesh Chowdhury Named DMD and Zonal Head at Bank Asia PLC”

Kayesh Chowdhury has recently assumed the role of deputy managing director (DMD) and zonal head for Chattogram at Bank Asia PLC, starting his duties on March 11, 2026. Before joining Bank Asia PLC, he held the position of senior executive vice president and head of regional corporate at BRAC Bank, as confirmed by a press release.

With a career spanning back to 1993, Chowdhury has garnered significant expertise in strategic leadership, governance, credit risk management, and business transformation, with a particular emphasis on the Chattogram Division. He commenced his banking journey with UCB and subsequently progressed through leadership roles at Dhaka Bank, Bank Asia, Dutch-Bangla Bank, and City Bank. Over the years, he has established a solid reputation as a conscientious, principled, and forward-thinking banker, displaying a profound understanding of corporate, commercial, and branch banking operations.

Having attained an MCom in finance from the University of Chittagong, Chowdhury has also completed various professional training programs in credit risk, leadership development, international banking, and financial analysis. He is well-known for his dedication to regulatory adherence, team empowerment, organizational fortification, and sustainable development.

Apart from his professional endeavors, Chowdhury is an accomplished singer, lyricist, and essayist. Actively involved in cultural and social ventures, he currently holds the position of vice president at Bankers’ Club Chattogram.
