The Information and Broadcasting Minister, Zahir Uddin Swapan, has committed to reevaluating cases where journalists were unfairly denied accreditation cards. Additionally, he disclosed plans to establish a journalist database for access to the Secretariat.
These statements were made by the minister today during an interactive session organized by the Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF) at the Media Centre within the Secretariat premises. The event was overseen by BSRF President, Masudul Hoque, and moderated by General Secretary, Ubaidullah Badol.
Swapan mentioned that he has already engaged in discussions with the Home Minister regarding facilitating journalists’ entry to the Secretariat. He further stated, “We will make a final decision on this matter after seeking your input as well,” addressing the journalists present at the session.
