“NCP Leader Warns BNP Against Aligning with Awami League”

Date:

Addressing BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, spokesperson Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain of the National Citizen Party (NCP) accused the BNP of showing support for the return of Sheikh Hasina to the political arena. Bhuyain directly addressed Tarique Rahman, highlighting the positive remarks made by the BNP regarding Awami League and Sheikh Hasina’s comeback. He expressed disappointment at the quick turnaround in alliances for narrow political gains, emphasizing the need for remembrance of past events over the last 17 years.

Speaking at a rally in Bogura following a march supporting Jamaat-e-Islami’s electoral symbol, Bhuyain cautioned the BNP against repeating political errors that could result in severe repercussions for its members. He warned against potential mistreatment by the Awami League, urging the BNP to steer clear of aligning with them to prevent a recurrence of past injustices faced by their leaders and families.

Bhuyain stressed the NCP’s stance on protecting Tarique Rahman’s wife, Zubaida Rahman, from facing persecution similar to Khaleda Zia’s experiences. He underscored the importance of learning from historical mistakes, referencing Ziaur Rahman’s decision to reintroduce Sheikh Hasina into the political landscape, which had long-term adverse consequences for the country.

The NCP leader highlighted the suffering endured by Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman during past political upheavals, cautioning against repeating mistakes that could jeopardize the opposition’s unity. Bhuyain emphasized the need for development initiatives in Bogura, including plans to elevate the local stadium to international standards and enhance industrialization efforts to address local challenges and boost employment opportunities.

Furthermore, Bhuyain outlined plans to revitalize Bogura’s airport for practical use and establish a university to nurture the region’s talented youth. He emphasized the long-lasting impact of making informed decisions through collective efforts, aiming to prevent the recurrence of past political turmoil and ensuring a prosperous future for generations to come.
