Netflix unveiled a sneak peek of its upcoming adaptation of “Pride and Prejudice,” showcasing Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden as Mr. Darcy. Scheduled for release this fall, the six-part series has been crafted for TV by writer Dolly Alderton. Netflix aims to pay homage to Jane Austen’s original masterpiece while captivating a fresh audience with its timeless romance.

The teaser teases viewers with stunning visuals, featuring Corrin’s Elizabeth on a rooftop at sunset, and her reaction to the sound of approaching horses. The scene transitions to Lowden’s Mr. Darcy making a grand entrance on horseback.

Euros Lyn, acclaimed for his work on “Heartstopper,” directs the series. In addition to Corrin and Lowden, the star-studded cast includes Olivia Colman as Mrs. Bennet, Rufus Sewell as Mr. Bennet, Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet, Jamie Demetriou as Mr. Collins, Daryl McCormack as Mr. Bingley, and Louis Partridge as Mr. Wickham, with Rhea Norwood, Siena Kelly, Fiona Shaw, Hopey Parish, and Hollie Avery in pivotal roles.

Executive producers Laura Lankester, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter lead the production for Lookout Point, with Alderton, Lyn, and Corrin also involved in production roles. Lisa Osborne serves as the producer.

Alderton expressed gratitude for the rare opportunity to reimagine Austen’s classic, referring to “Pride and Prejudice” as the ultimate romantic comedy blueprint. She looks forward to presenting a mix of familiar and innovative character interpretations.

This series adds to the extensive list of adaptations of Austen’s 1813 novel, a timeless gem in English literature.
